Looking for an arc welder, have a few doors to put together, and I have been toying with the idea of welding the bars into the crush as there only held with brackets and half rotten, most id be sticking together would be 2.5/3mm box other than that,

I did a welding course in fas years ago so it's bound to come back to me but what are others using ? Saw this and wondered would it do the job, don't want spending a fortune for all the use I will have for it really

    https://www.micksgarage.com/d/arc-welders/products/2056341/230v-arc-welder-turbo-100amp?loc=ie&gclid=CjwKCAjwnPOEBhA0EiwA609ReVfdBAAcJinP-3d01BD2vTS6QKQhvR7baKzgRP8ZcgxFpkuQZ43S0BoC-cIQAvD_BwE

At 100 Amps you will be at the max that that welder will cope with. It will be cutting out to cool down alot at the top end of the scale. If you could at all you'd be as well go for one with more Amps and then turn it down so you dont melt the steel (if it a light section)
    Have a look at this:

    Buy it once

Buy a reputable one and spec it about 1 1/2 times what you think you need. Loads of makes out there. Go to some place like KWS or EPT they will do a deal on the welder mask and some rods.

Don't buy that one anyway, it's a transformer and it's max 100 amps.

You want an inverter and 160 amp miminum.

Ended up seeing a 140amp inverter, with tig welder incorporated, made by sip, up to 3.2mm rods, rated for use of a generator too, which could come in handy on the out farm, welding thickness 1.5 to 7mm, it's not for all it will do but seeks like a much better welder for a few euro more, any experience here with that make? I've looked up online and all reviews seem very positive

I have a 200amp SIP myself with a few years, no problems.
Think i payed something like €450 at the time which is enough for a farm welder.
There was another thread here around last Christmas with a few good recomendations on it, one of the lads bought a parweld for €260 ish think it was a 160amp inverter which i though great value.
    Here it is https://www.ept-irl.com/products/parweld-xts163dv-160amp-dual-voltage-mma-inverter-wtwtwpw-xts163dv.html?name=welder&type=simple&page=1

Looks like a good bit of kit, has he used it much or how has he found it? I'm kind of tempted by the sip I won't lie, rang a friend of mine after seeing it, he's a qualified welder working years at it, he seemed to think for the bits I'd be at it would do the job rightly, but I suppose buy right buy one

Just a bit of an update, I received the welder I was looking at, the sip 140amp T1400, haven't bought any clean metal yet, the weekend to start on the doors, so I've been playing with some scrap I had lying around, im very impressed, flat welds and fillets on heavy flat metal, to heavy tbh and ive only 2.5mm 6013 rods, but if anyone was looking for a handy wee welder for tipping around the farm id recommend it, hasn't went over its duty cycle and yesterday I was messing around with it for quite a while, I payed 140euro delivered from craigmore Ireland
