Ryanair re-booking question re charges on changes

    Hi,

I have a question that I hope someone can answer.

We had flights booked with Ryanair from pre-Covid times for travel last June. Obviously these were cancelled etc. with Covid so we kicked them out to this year, same weeks and destination etc. last year.

So it's approaching June now and we are going to kick it out to next year as only one of us is vaccinated (HCW). However when I went to change it I was charged a change fee of €240. I paid it because I was under pressure time wise at the time but it doesn't sit right with me. Should this not have been free to change as per last year?

Edit: Sorry I should have mentioned that the flight out of Dublin this June has been cancelled, but the return is showing as flying at the moment.

    anyone have any thoughts?

T and c's differ depending on when you booked the flight.

For example my recent flight allowed 2 changes free of charge provided they were made over 1 week before the flight. Previously they only allowed one change.

240 seems like a lot. It may have been cheaper to just book a new flight.
