    Not really.

245/70R16 could work, but 265/70R16 will severely limit the suspension travel - you'll most certainly get rubbing. 255/65R16 is almost identical in diameter.

255 is a rare enough size doe I think is it

The 235/70/16's that are already on it.

    Right OK.
I wouldn't of minded putting a bigger tyre on it or at least a wider tyre.
    Or am I mad

If changing tyre size you need to consider the rolling circumference to keep the speedo accurate and the load code to make sure the tyres are not overloaded.
The load code is usually after the rim size on the sidewall of the tyre.
Higher is ok. Lower not a good idea.

245/65/16 or 255/60/16 or 265/55/16 are all very close in circumference to what you have but I’ve no idea if tyres in these sizes are common

check your car spec for size reccs, if you put no spec sizes on you may need to tell your insurance , as its a mod

have a medium to large accident no matter who is at fault , they will check your tyre spec as a matter of course .

your 235 70 r16 is not mentioned here though for a 2006 it is for a 2005 as an option

but check manufacture spec first .
