    Hi,
just had a rep call to inform us that the cable is being upgraded in our area.. Does anyone know if this is just more copper cables or are they trying to compete with Siro who now have FTTH?
    Thanks

They have a small proportion of their cable network that can't support 1Gbs so have been undertaking upgrades for those areas.

ok.. so in the end it will most likely be down to price.. because Siro offer even without discount for 1 year way cheaper for what I'm paying for 360Mb. Still the broadband has been reliable in our area for the past year.. I watched OpenEir install fibre down the back lane to the box behind the house.. Interesting times ahead...

They also have a small footprint of test FTTH but they media convert back to coax within the premises.

It's more than test, anywhere that wasn't within the old coax circuit here in Enniscorthy is ftth since the latest upgrade, as you say once the connection is made inside the premises it's coax to the router or TV box.
