Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

weird cable / box / LNB issue

I've one TV and one Edison box hooked up to a dish with a quad LNB only two outputs are used,
The TV was working fine for about a year then I added the Edison box,

Everything has been fine up to now, Kids mostly use Netflix, My wife went to use the TV to watch satellite and it wasn't working. They are out a GAA so I took a look this morning.

The Edison box is working so the dish wasn't move by the wind.
I was getting 18V on cable from the TV, Hooked up a sat meter, little to no signal.
Turned on the Edison box to double check it and the TV starts working and the meter screaming full signal.

All the cables come back to one cupboard so I swapped the cables now if I power off the TV the Edison box stops working, if the TV is in standby the Edison box works so I'm not stuck but don't understand whats happening. And that drives me nuts!.

Is the LNB on the fritz, with polarization work?

Last time those symptoms came up here, the cause was a dodgy connection at the LNB, I think due to moisture ingress, & in that case the cure would involve cutting away the affected part of the cable, putting on a new connector, & waterproofing as best you can.

Thanks at least I know what it is.
I've a crimper for f-connectors and it joins to the main cables in the attic, so it's not a big job I'll probably get some shotgun cable and run an new on.
