Steel Shed Questions

    Hi there,

I'm currently looking into getting a steel shed for the back garden. The intended usage would be home gym and storage (including power tools, stove wood, etc) so dryness would be important.

I plan to line the interior with ply to hang things from. Would this effectively negate most of the benefit of going with an insulated option? I would like a light panel in the ceiling so this would already compromise the insulation effectiveness, i think.

I want to run a reinforced electric cable up through the hardcore and the concrete. Is there an advisable distance this should be from the edges. The ground upon which the slab is to be poured is very solid. Roughly what thickness should the hardcore layer be? The slab will be roughly 3000 x 4000 x 150.

A complication to consider is that my house has no side access so everything would have to come through the house. Are there any particular shed brands/suppliers out there for whom this wouldn't present too much of a problem. 'Steeltech', for instance, seem to be a non-runner as the gable ends are prefabricated and hence won't fit through the front door of my house.

Any advice regarding this would be very much appreciated. :)
