    Hi everyone,

Can someone please shed some light on this:

Add three of these heavy items into your basket:
    https://www.ikea.com/ie/en/p/omar-1-shelf-section-s69829083/

Get your shipping costs estimated (I live in Dublin).
It's 15 EUR for me (I did buy these and I paid 15 EUR as well)
Note, this is 6x 9.23kg packages = 55.38kg in total
    Total volume: 6x 37x10x94cm = 208680 cm3
Shipping cost: 27 cents per kg OR 71.88 EUR per m3

Remove these items now to start with an empty basket again.

Add a single very light item to your basket:
    https://www.ikea.com/ie/en/p/vidga-single-track-rail-white-70299153/
Get your shipping costs estimated for the same Eir Code

    It's 35 EUR for me
    0.44kg in total
    Total volume: 5x3x165cm = 2475 cm3
Shipping cost: 79 EUR per kg OR 14141.41 EUR per m3

I pay 292x more by weight when trying to get the small plastic rail
    or
I pay 197x more by volume when trying to get the small plastic rail

Is there any way to get the shipping cost on the small plastic item to a sane amount?
35 EUR is just insane when you can get 55kgs delivered for 15 EUR to the same address..

different delivery options. It could be that the rail is too long for their parcel delivery service. the shelving unit probably breaks to a much smaller parcel.

With so many items, the delivery calculation is automatic.

So this reads as a package over 90cm.

An package over 90cm gets delivered by contracted vans rather than a parcel deliver service, thus a €35 cost.

They'll be open for click and collect from tomorrow and open fully from 17th.

Any package with a dimension greater than 1.5 metres cannot be shipped by An Post so an alternative option must be used.

Oh, Click&Collect is great news for me. Thanks!

I just tried and got "Sorry, our Collection is currently unavailable"

I'm hoping they'll still flip the switch on this later this morning.

Unfortunately they say they'll only do Click&Collect when the store reopens...

Hi there. Unfortunately, we do not have a date yet for reopening but Click and Collect will be available once store is reopening. Any updates will be found on our website :) thanks- Elena

But then, on this link, they say Click&Collect opens today...

    What a mess!

I'm in the same boat. It wont let me place order at all. Delivery or click and collect. Bit of a shamble.

They'll be open next week. The world won't end in the meantime.

It's the most frustrating website. You enter a correct Eircode and it keeps asking telling you to enter a valid Eircode.

I'm trying to place a big order myself and can't seem to get either myself or my wifes accounts to work. Same issue , "invalid eircode".

I finally got a click and collect working there at about 10 ish or so - from what i saw the past couple of days the window for click and collects seems to open at about 10. The delivery option was just non existent for me at any point - same invalid eircode error which i suspect is used where there is either no delivery option available OR no click and collect either. Poor site to be honest.
