Chemical mixer attachment for hose

    Hi. Could anyone advise a good mixer. These are the attachments which fit the end of a hose and will actively mix a chemical in a reservoir with water coming from your tap.

    I’ve taken a look online and can’t find much on Irish websites. Woodies and B&Q don’t seem to have. Amazon have them but with bad reviews. Would hope to get one that accurately allows you to manage the % mix.

    In addition, good or bad idea to use these to spray weed killer on a lawn or should it be limited to liquid fertilisers?

    Use a good quality backpack sprayer with the correct nozzle for the application. This guy has some decent videos on the subject https://www.youtube.com/user/LawnsmithTV

    I've only ever used the garden hose based systems for applying detergents. I've never seen one designed for accurately applying chemicals to lawns that didn't use a pump to control the flow.

    The reason I’m thinking using a hose attachment is purely out of speed and convenience. Using a spray just takes so much longer.

    I’d imagine it wouldn’t be a good idea when using lawn weed killers. However, I would think that a liquid fertiliser, even those containing iron sulphate to kill moss would be safe enough to use given they are not toxic?
