Hi I picked up a bmw 320d looking at getting it wrapped then maybe doing other bits to it.

Looking at colors online I like Atlantis blue & san Marino Blue

Any other options that would look nice?

I like Gulf Blue but probably needs black alloys to get the look right.

You could use cling film. That would wrap it up for you or wrapping paper lol.

Whats the general cost of wrapping a car, out of curiousity?

And if you decide to wrap a blue car pink, do the NCT ever care that it's not the colour it's "supposed" to be?

    No idea on cost,
You only have to declare a colour change where its a permanent one. Wraps are temporary so all good.

Some insurance companies require you to declare window tints, best bet is to read your policy documents and if not clear then contact your insurance company.

The question asked was about the nct and the fact the cars colour wouldn't correspond to the tax disc or log book, what's insurance got to do with anything?

You have to declare all material facts including any and all modifications you're aware of, to your insurance to be completely above board.

I did a bit of work for car wraps recently and they can dramatically change the look and stance of the car. I think you'll need dark wheels for either of those colours, particularly the San Marino Blue.

True i think black would definitely be the way to go looking at the m3/m4 competition alloys

I don't see the point of black alloys. They are dull and don't stand out or enhance the car in any way. You might as well just have steel wheels on your car and save a fortune if all you want is black alloys.

I don't know much about wrapping but I know a lot about photography and both those pics have been punched out. In particular the 1st so they're both not really representative of the real effect/colour.

I like the turquoise-y colour. Not mad about the car itself, mind you, but the colour is lovely in my opinion.

Thing is - no matter what you post, 10 people will say it's amazing and 10 will say it's laughable. Kinda have to go with your own gut instinct a lot of the time with this kinda thing.

Really depends on the alloys doesn't have to be black,
Grey alloys would be also nice.

True just good to get other options good and bad, I'm just wondering would they be able to show me what the my car would be like wrapped in a color .
How easy would it to get wrap removed if ever decided to ?

Nope, just a image from the net.
Search BMW wrapping and it should pop up.

Yeah have been looking online hard to pick a colour and hoping it doesn't look tacky. Would car wrapping places be able to show what my car would look like in different colors ? Top color at the moment is this one Blue Raspberry .

If you stick to a BMW colour and use good quality wrap it shouldn't look tacky

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,605 ✭✭✭cpoh1

One thing to consider with wrapping is that while in theory its easily removeable theres a chance you will have marks on your bodywork from where the cuts at the panels were made folding in. If this is something for a bit of fun before you go back to the original colour it might be worth researching a little.

What is the list of BMW Colors? I would be getting it done in teckwrap Ireland or carstyle.
There is someone with a BMW 330 F30 and its wrapped in a leaf green colour.
