Why do we play the victim?

The recent outcry - by politicians, local media and ppl on facebook etc - about the focus being put on Donegal's rate of covid infections has highlighted the sense of victimization many in Donegal seem to feel. What is it about us that we have to look everywhere else for someone to blame for our situation apart from where most of the blame lies?.. with ourselves.

*This post is not confined to covid, but how we seem to blame all our woes on them up in Dublin, the forgotten county etc, isn't it time to grow up and accept that sometimes we actually contribute / or are to blame for the situation(s) we find ourselves in.
