It depends on the size of the bus and whether it's got a single axle on the rear or a twin axle set up. Single axle will be 19.5t max, and twin will be 25 ton... thats max allowable, but each vehicle might vary.

Smaller buses are a bit all over the place depending on the base vehicle they are built on. We have an Iveco Wing 28 seat that is 6.5ton.. but others will differ.

Find the manufacturer VIN plate and it will well you what the chassis is rated for.

Thanks for that. Where do you locate the actual VIN or number itself? Is it on the inside of the drivers door?

There will be a plate somewhere on the bus ,usually but not always, by the steps/door of the bus.
It will have the details of the bus ie unladen weight, height width and lenght etc.

To the front and rear of the front doors on the interior side. You might also find one on the exterior depending on model. If it so happens to be a current double decker... 12T unladen and 18T full

Plate often near the passenger steps. You're likely in the 16-18 ton range
