Digital platform streaming: are some better than others?

Film and documentary reviews frequently say available on “digital platforms”, rather than the likes of Amazon or Netflix.

I’ve just read a review of a doc called “Truman and Tennessee: An Intimate Conversation”.

When I Google it I see that it’s available on about a dozen platforms.

    Are some better than others?

Are some more expensive than others?

    Any other advice?

    Thanks.

    D.

Yes some are better than others
Yes some are more expensive than others

Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Sky Now would be the most well known ones in Ireland and all have a decent range of content

HBO isn't available here but has some great content

Name a few of the others?

    This doc is available via...

    BFI
    Google Play
    Amazon Play
    Curzon
    Dogwoof
    Rakuten
    YouTube

    ...amongst others.

The only platform I have is Netflix.

    Thanks.

I always meant to check out the BFI (British Film Institute), they make /curate some really interesting content (some of which you'll see on BBC4) the building on London South Bank is worth a visit if you're passing.
