New Huawei phone, ported number now can't send text interationally

    Picked up a new Huawei Y6P today.
    Ready to go on the 20e plan.
    Number was ported over ok.
    But found i cannot send an international text, get "Failed to Send".
    But i can receive international texts...

    Called Three support and they were saying it's not allowed, ie not possible on a Prepay phone to text internationally. :mad:
    Suggested i go to Bill Pay and quoted me on a plan that allows up to x calls and texts international.
    Pretty sure the Three support girl was just making this stuff up as there is no way a person cannot send an SMS text to Britain or the US.

    Topped up phone by a tenner since checking balance shows it at zero, and hope that resolves it.

    Anybody else run into this?

    What data plan has it got? Is it possible that the phone ran updates when you first turned it on, this used up all the data plan and then when you went to text internationally there was zero balance? You may be able to send text nationally if it's included as part of your plan.

    Three's €20 pay as you go plan doesn't include international texts.They are 25c extra per text.If you topped up by €20,then you had no credit left to pay for the text.
    This plan doesn't let you 'keep your credit' like older plans.
