Both are health risks for a good night out. Which is worse though?

Have you thought this through? Or do you want the internet to think it through for you?

Sharing a smoke with a person with Covid, you'll either get very ill soon or in several years

to take it to the extreme...

You could be a chain smoker* on 40 a day and live to 97
You could inhale the covid and be dead in four weeks

As always ..the truth is probably somewhere in the middle

    Easy one.

Half of smokers die due to smoking related illnesses
    While
98.5% of people who catch Covid are grand in a few weeks

In terms of mortality those magnitudes look ballpark. Long covid is the real risk but that probability varies wildly depending on what threshold of symptom severity is used.

Typical of AH posts made at 2am the OP is more about frustration than stats :pac:

Iv seen a few relations suffer after a lifetime smoking. Ill take my chances with long covid any day instead of that.

    Really?
Smoking has not been cool since the 70s.

This is a myth, people do not recover from covid in a few weeks,
    google long covid,
it can have long lasting health effects,
    https://www.irishtimes.com/news/health/long-covid-can-affect-people-even-with-mild-initial-symptoms-study-1.4452710
yes its true that most people do not die from covid.

    ‘Full health’
It found that 62 per cent of patients felt they had not returned to full health, while 47 per cent were classified as having fatigue.

    you can give up smoking,
yes smoking is very bad for your health.
getting covid is not like getting a cold.
unless you get it you,ll never know what the effects will be.
once you get covid it can effect you for the rest of your life.
Also if you get it you can pass it on to other people,
your family or friends who may have existing health conditions.
i think smoking is no longer cool,
i never see anyone on social media smoking a cigarette,
using drugs may be cool depending where you live .
smoking was cool in the 70s, and the 80s.

    Smoking. Yum.

    Cancer.

    Stained hands, stained teeth.

    Clothes that stink.

    Covid. Bad.

    Man on telly says so.

Can only assume you're trying to humorously post what 3 year old would be thinking?
