This is a question re CGT but I can't seem to amend heading!
Bought house 1990. Did refurb works between then and 1999. PPR til '99. Rented since then. Plan to sell it now. Never thought of keeping solicitors fees, stamp duty (did I pay it???) or refurb cost receipts for the period 90-99. Is there a way of claiming for those 'allowable losses' without receipts? I know there's be indexation relief too. Thanks very much.

You can make the claims if you know what you spent but be aware Revenue could audit you and request the receipts etc. Surely the solicitor has a lot or all of that info?

Solicitor may have but I have had no dealings with him for 31 years! All he would have is presumably exact purchase price and fees.
