Hi all i got the rear of my car tinted today and when i got home i noticed that the rear screen yellow orangy coloured demister lines were on show for all to see and its driving me nuts  I dont think ive ever seen a car with an aftermarket rear tint having this problem while on my travels ,any imput or help would be appreciated to help to try to come to a solution.
Have wondered is it only happening with certain tinting brand companies being dependant on the " ingredients " that they use to make their tint as in
the quality of the ceramic, carbon ,dyed or having a metalised layer etc,any help appreciated.....

The tint goes on the inside of the window. So the demister is between the tint and the glass. Completely normal for aftermarket tint.

Thanks for that info, just wondering then have you seen many cars with after market tint jobs displaying the demister lines, especially as it seems to be a big market trend with all these tint shops popping up all over the place.I didnt notice it in the building but its in the outside daylight that it really shows, its a shame that tinters dont inform potential customers first that this is an issue that will arise with after market tint instead of them making a sale and having a grin and bare it attitude afterwards..
Is there any way around this problem,i,ve read that its the darker the tint the more it shows up and i only have 35 % in the rear and 20 % in the two back doors, imagine the look with a 5 % tint in the rear .....

It’s just something you haven’t noticed before.

Can you post a photo of what you're talking about? the rear demister lines are always there but the tint just makes them more pronounced as opposed to clear glass.

Will take a couple tomorrow, theirs no big issue when its a dull day but when its a sunny day thats when the orange tone demister lines really pop out and show there glory ,its more noticable especially when the cars parked up and the sun is beaming down directly on the rear window.Today i popped out to the place where i got them done and the chap showed me the rear windows of a few other cars and the colour of the demister lines were more of a greyish colour and were not that visable but when we checked out the lines on my car they were not that pronounced because of this dull rainey day but you could see that they were coloured orangey compared to the toned down colours of the other cars.
So i,m now thinking maybe its something to do with the differant types and colour demisters used in differant brand car manufacturures is whats having the effect that causes the issue, this orange colour is on my Nissan, cheers.

Trying to upload a couple of photos but it says there mb are to large, havnt a clue about the tech side, tried to upload a couple of photos that i took from the web with one showing a chap preping the inside rear window for tint on a nissan centra and even if you zoom in you cant see any demister lines. The second one would be when he had the tint sheet up to the inside of the window and you can really notice the strong colour orange demister lines,i know he still has to squegee the tint to the screen so that might tone the colour down some only its a shame the video didnt run to the end to show the final result. Was looking at differant tint videos and there was other nissans that had the rear tint done to their cars with the result of the demister lines showing up a more grey colour instead of orange...IMG_20210501_094518.jpg

There's not a lot you can do.
If the demister lines were grey/ black.. that's what they'll show as.
If they were lime green, or as in your case, orange, they'll show as orange.

Nothing you can do, unless you remove the tint, and either remove and replace the demister lines, or replace the rear window with something with grey lines.

My rear window is the way colm_mcm explained above. You do not notice it from outside unless you went up close and looked. I did have other cars that were factory tinted so the glass itself was tinted but my second car to own had tint film and I'm pretty sure they covered the whole window with one piece but I'm not 100% on that as it was 19 years ago.

Have had my eye on it a good few times and its starting to grow on me :)
Thing is though while out driving the other night in the dark i checked my rear view mirror and could see a pair of headlights from the car behind, thing is they were somewhat distorted looking and the demister lines below were showing up as a whitish colour
