    Hi all,

I would like to open a discussion about Irish laws on creating content for clips4sale.com, or Iwantclips.com to make some money on the side. do you think this is legal? I believe both companies are in the U.S so the content is not sold from Ireland. This is how it works, basically you upload clips and if they sell, you get a percentage from each clip. Doesn't have to be porn, lots of members on these sites just sell foot fetish clips where there is not even nudity. I said porn because if creating porn is legal then, all other softcore fetishes are legal too.

I have read some post where women (mainly I guess, probably men do too) in Ireland are making some revenue on websites like onlyfans.com.

Ive asked a layer yesterday and he told me to pay him 1500 euro for the answer. not sure now if I want to become a porn star or a layer XD

There is no much information on the internet. Looking forward to hear your thoughts

Peace. I know it is a taboo question Ive just asked. Please don't throw stones at me :)

If it's between consenting adults and in private then what laws are being broken? You may run into trouble though if you pay the participants.

But then, one could legitimately ask the question, what's the difference between film and television production with graphic, rather than explicit sexual content, such as Normal People and Game of Thrones and bespoke pornography intended for age restricted release?

Those two I mentioned also received Government incentives from Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Money will land in your account from a U.S. company.

They'll fund literally any old shyte if you call it art.

At least a porno would be guaranteed an audience.

I think you should go for it - offer to make it in Irish, and film it in rural Ireland, where you'll create some temporary employment.

    Thanks,

    G.

I think there’d be two things to consider - laws on prostitution, and laws on pornography.

As regards prostitution, obviously if the product features only one person - yourself or someone else - there’s no actual sex happening, so no risk of running up against prostitution laws.

But let’s say the product features you and another person, and features sex or a sex act between the two of you, and the other person receives payment (whether from you or from a third party). That looks like an act of prostitution on their part. Prostitution is not in itself illegal, but various activities associated with prostitution are - including organising prostitution, or keeping premises for the purposes of prostitution. So if you set the whole thing up, or if you use your gaff to make the product, there could be offences there.

As for pornography, as long as you’re over 18 I don’t think there’s going to be a problem. If you send a video of yourself doing something naughty by phone to someone who is going to be shocked or offended by it, or who simply doesn’t want it, that’s an offence, and I think this is likely to be expanded to cover doing the same thing by e-mail, social media, etc. But in this case you’d be sending it to the people who operate a platform that hosts such things, so presumably they won’t be shocked or offended or repelled, so there’s no legal problem that I can see.
