Fibre / FTTH Install Issues

Our estate finally has fibre available.

EIR contacted me and installer came and basically didn't even try saying there was a blocked duct -

I have no idea where the duct runs, so am wondering who or how I can resolve this .. I see mentions of cat/genny - is an electrician the best bet?

    https://www.eir.ie/opencms/export/sites/default/.content/pdf/BlockedDucting.pdf

Ideally I don't want to rip up the tiles in my hallway either, because am fairly sure that's where the duct actually runs.

Would appreciate any advice so I can start ringing the right tradespeople...

Where does your current telephone line terminate, as in where is the socket currently?
Do you have an external termination unit outside your house, little white box.

    Thanks Alan.

Current line terminates inside the front door on a wall plate, I know the duct goes down to floor level and we believe out under our tiles and then takes a dog leg outside somewhere under the asphalt to the street where there is a manhole for TE (Eir).

I don't see an ETU at our house.

Yeah that's the normal route then. They reckon it's blocked between manhole and house? Have they chased it through to check and find the blockage point? I can't see why it would be unless it got crushed or has a very bad turn.

The KN guy didn't even try, he took a look in the door and said it would need tiles to come up - he didn't even try to chase the line - I didn't know any better unfortunately at the time.

I could order again and hope the installer would do a bit more than look - but equally if I can get ahead of that and make sure there was a clear route I'd like to do that - ?

Update, I got OpenEIR out again and they agreed that the cable needed to be relaid and are arranging to do so.
