    Hi All

Two questions on a new build I hope someone can help with.
Both questions unrelated but here goes,

    1. In the plans for a new house, does a concrete slab on first floor instead of timber joists need to be clearly defined in the house plans submitted for PP?
    2. For the help to buy scheme from government, do I need to employ a builder to complete the full end to end build to avail of this scheme or can I still avail by going the direct labor route
    ?

    1. No. That’s a construction specification that you agree with your builder.

    2. Not sure. Sorry.

    re 1:
It would be better to decide or allow sufficient space/height pre-planning stage as the overall depths of a timber floor structure and concrete floor structure (with screed over and service void under) can be quite different so may effect the overall height of the house and planning compliance.
