Outward leg , truck carries 30,000 litres of water
    Return leg is empty.

Want to estimate the diesel consumption for each leg.
    Thanks as always

    Motorway approx.

    Empty with trailer: ~22L
    Fully loaded: ~35L

30k litres seems over payload capacity.

Thanks, based on that idea, I asked a driver delivering to Chadwicks what his dash showed, 35l/100km with 22 ton load, was a flat bed with steel so lower wind resistance.

    Thank you all, case closed!:)

35L/100km seems high to be honest. In our yard we pull nearly all fridges and average between 31 and 32.5 with 20 tonnes of a load.
