I've done a search for this but could only find decade old info. Are there any places that sell RON98 fuel in Ireland. Where do all the M3s and supercar types go for their fuel?

Actual guaranteed 98 is not sold here.

The standard E5 refined (there's only one refinery) or coming in here is generally quite a bit higher than 95, the 95 is a bare minimum guaranteed. Maxol used to state theirs was 99.2 but pulled the claim, presumably due to an inconsistent supply or something.

Supercar drivers can probably afford Redex or similar!

They'll all run on 95 but they won't have as much power as on 98. As there's nowhere on the Island that you could use the full power of them not having full power isn't a major issue.

Super premium petrol only accounts for ~15% of all petrol sales in the UK.

Ireland is such a small market.. it's just not worth their while selling it here.

    Edit
In 2018, the UK used 14,810,517,890L of 95 Ron (14,810 million litres)
    And only 1,054,037,682 L of 97Ron+ (1,054 million litres)

    And 29,383,642,492L of B7 diesel.(29,383 million litres)

    In comparison.
    Ireland used

    1,417,810,513 L of petrol (1,400million litres)&
    3,648,918,241 L of diesel.(3,648 million litres)

If you have a turbo petrol circle k is much better for power and mpg

Amber and applegreen is basically ditch water.

Can be 30% difference to a tank

Yeah Circle K and Maxol for turbos. A tuner I was talking to said Maxol tends to be the better of the two.

I use the circle k plus as my fuel for racing. Its reliable.

I use sunoco gt260plus As spicy fuel.

    Truer words,
Apple greens petrol has a nasty habit of making my bikes carbs throw a fit.
Their diesel lasts no length and always makes my car run like sh!te.

Circle k has far better fuel

I recently filled up with diesel, in an unmanned site in cork... Only afterwards found out that the only other outlet that this particular operator has, is in Dundalk. (It's a branded station)

Seems like a long way to go to open a second site.

    Pff

My car states its optimum grade of fuel is 91 Ron, but I only give her the 89Ron and there's not a bother on her !

I don't really get that logic. Why would they bother selling anything here in that case.

Although you can't even buy my car in Ireland right now.

There are lots of things that aren't available here, that can be got in the UK .. have you ever been to Sainsbury's in Newry.. you'll see different product ranges from familiar manufacturers.

Although you can't even buy my car in Ireland right now
Thinly veiled... Ask me about my special car

Yes but fuel isn't exactly some niche product.

I was never going to tell you the car or give a **** if you asked anyway.

Look at Italy.. they've a large population, about 60m I think.

And they can only get 95ron.. despite being the home of Alfa & Ferrari etc

As for 'niche product' most people will just buy the cheapest fuel available.

There isn't enough demand for it.

If you need to run anything over 95RON, NF Race is the only booster I've ever seen actually work on a dyno. I'm not saying others don't work, but I've seen it work in person. You would need a half-bottle for every full tank, but it's readily available here.

Depending on the car, some are better than others at adapting to 95RON.

And on that note we close the thread.
You have answers, good luck in your mystery car.
