Something to cover gap in gate

    Hi,

Recently installed a side gate, happy with the job but there’s approx 2” gap between the posts to allow them to swing. Any suggestions for something that could be used to cover the the gap while not impeding the operation of the gate, eg rubber strips or a brush-style vertical strip?

    A picture would really help!

Sorry I couldn’t figure out how to post a pic first. There you go, just looking to cover that gap somehow

Finally figured out how to upload a pic 😂. You can see the gap there where it’s easy to see through the gate into the garden.

Sorry Gents I was away for the weekend and just realised I’d made a mess of the upload. Hopefully the pic shows what I’m after

Does the gate swing both ways?
If not cover the side that doesn't open with a strip of plastic painted black?

Thats terrible. Lovely gates ruined by that gap.
    What way do they open?

They open towards the camera, you can see the bottom hinge just at the bottom of the pic

I’d be asking whoever supplied the gates to tidy it up. Fine gates but that gap is not acceptable.

    I see the hinge yes.
Id assume that hinge pin - the pivot point is on the face of that post facing the camera. If so, and it only opens towards us, it should need next to nothing in terms of a gap and still open perfectly.
Anyway, id get a black metal angle fitted that would overlap onto the post slightly yet still not hit the post.

Those gates don't need any gap.

I'd say someone has messed up a measurement.

Good idea that - many thanks
