Quick toll tag question

Anyone know if the tag working is dependent on the registration being correct ?

So I changed the car two weeks ago & the tag was working fine on the old car, bought a new tag holder and mounted in the new car and now the tag doesn't work (first time trying yesterday).

Thought maybe the battery, or the trauma of moving it from car to car, but just thinking last night that I never updated the reg on the system. Would that cause the tag not to work ?

Not sure what tag you have but Eflow states not to put the tag from one car in to another without switching the registration number.

    Eflow definitely cross reference.

You can log in to eflow account online and assign different car registration to your tag. Takes 1 minute.

Thansk, I've changed the reg on the ParkMagic portal so hopefully that does the trick.

Didn't even get a double beep of any sort though, so could still be the tag, but will give it another try

One point on this. If the previous owner had outstanding tolls/penalties you won't be able to transfer the tag to the new car until you send eFlow proof you have just bought the car.

Ran into this one myself with my new car last week.

Lads aren't there some scummers around that would do that. How did you find out about the owed money, would it not work or did it stop you transferring the new reg to your tag?

Same here. Son bought a car recently and I tried to transfer tag to new car. Couldn't figure it out. Called them and there was a bill associated with the car,the operator accepted that we just bought the vehicle and transferred the tag.

I went into my account on the eFlow site and tried to add the new reg and it came up saying arrears are owed so it can't be added.

Rang them and they want a copy of the VLC but seeing as I'm still waiting on that, it's probably good I'm not going anywhere at the moment.

No beep might be an indication of low battery you can get a free replacement.

AFAIK, you need the correct registration assigned to the tag for the M50 as it reads the reg first then checks to see if there's an account associated.

At other toll locations it reads the tag and charges the account irrespective of the registration.

I'm not using my tag at the moment as I don't have a car so I've assigned my parents reg number to the tag but the tag itself is on a shelf in my house. They use the M50 and it gets billed to my account but at all other tolls they must pay as there is no tag in the vehicle and these tolls don't read the registration for billing purposes.

In any case, it's better to have tag and associated registration assigned correctly to avoid unnecessary hassle down the road (see what I did there :) ).

Thanks but safe on that one as it's brand new, can see where it could be an issue on 2nd hand cars though
