Noticing this on those ridiculous face shields, why does it have a big label on the front of them to tell you what it is? Is it in case you mistake them for being a local welder and ask them to do a nixer for you?

That's the guy's name. It's written there so his brother Heat Shield doesn't take it by accident.

They realised that most people have too big of an arse to use it as a toboggan ...so they quickly re-named it.

    Clever marketing that.

Get rid of the word 'Shield' and add a 'r' straight into the middle of the word 'Face'

How the heck is that going to help people who can't read or don't understand English ??

It's just the typically blunt Chinese approach to product design and labeling, especially when it comes to things used in the Western world. Most the ppe (all of it in my work) is made in china and so a lot of the ppe packaging and labeling was and still is all or mostly chinese characters. After the stuff began to be shipped en masse to other countries cuz of covid I'm guessing they were told we needed some english labeling on stuff so we knew what the heck we were opening. Gloves for example are a little easier to identify by looks alone.

Pre pandemic if most Joe Soaps opened a box of face shields you wouldn't know what they were, they weren't common in most jobs.

That does not matter; it still makes it visible which is what matters.. Mission accomplished...

    The US FDA specifies
The product includes labelling that accurately describes the product as a face shield.

    "Might" be anything.

I await to see a frying pan with the words "frying pan" emblazoned on the product.

And what if the wording was:

"Ich BIN EIN VISOR, Verstehen Sie?"

    or
    面具

I'm going to invent a little wiper that you can stick on to the shield, and it will wipe away everything, amazing.
I call it the Brush Shields

You live on an island right?

For a reason...either to get away from the numbers or because you like and respect wildlife.

1.56 BILLION of these masks were flushed into the sea in 2020 and they are all containing a layer of polyester..

That's just crappy masks. Single use latex gloves are now clogging up canals in The Netherlands. Nice work if you can get it.

Because that's how stupid some people in the world are, that they need warnings and labels for the stuff that is obvious, like "Warning! Contents may be hot" on a coffee cup, or "Don't leave you vehicle unattended while in cruise control", or the best "Contains nuts" on a packet of fupping nuts!
