    Hi,

If a house was built (approx 9 years ago) by a contractor who got part of the site boundaries incorrect..and now it turns out part of this house is on the neighbouring site
    ..who's liable?

Has the house owner any rights here...or do they simply have to give up all land that is not part of the official digital land registry in their name?

    Thanks!

I cant get a definitive answer to this but it seems to me/its very likely that the neighbouring house is built on the property it adjoins. I recall this being common enough 30 years ago before maps were more frequently updated as surveys by OSI.
The solution was new registration for all the properties to rectify

Thats a legal question. Without all the facts being known and adjudicated on by a court there's no way anyone here could answer your question.
