Vodafone Gigabox: Port Forwarding All Ports

Hi All,

In trying to setup security cameras at home, the security camera company have insisted that all UDP ports must be open on the router in order for the cameras to function reliably.

In short, sadly - and incorrectly if you ask me - the company who make the cameras, Eufy, have insisted that all UDP ports from 1 - 65535 must be open - as the devices use a random port each time they need to communicate over the internet... :rolleyes:

The Vodafone Gigabox router will not allow me to do this though. It errors out saying that there's an invalid range...



Has anyone come across this before? Any solutions?

That doesn't sound right. The client side port might be random, but would connect out to a well known fixed port number. They shouldn't need the ports to be forwarded to them. Can we see the text of theirs claiming this?

Everything I can find on them says they use relaying through Eufys web infrastructure. You shouldnt need to change a thing. They reach out, nothing reaches in.

uPnP should be what they use. Doing it the way that they are allows them to twilight the products further down the road.
