Civil wedding ceremony question

    Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has gotten married in a civil registry office?
Is there a standard wording? And if so is it quite short and straightforward? We honestly would like as little fuss and decision making required from us as possible for the ceremony but guessing our parents will expect us to make some bit of an effort to make the ceremony nice. For them more than us! 🙈
Thanks to anyone who can see any light on how it all works.

Yes, there’s a standard “script”. Very short. I’d say 15 min max, we didn’t make any changes to it.

Thanks jlm29 - great to know that others have just stuck with the plain script. Neither of us is particularly rosemantic so picking readings and stuff would not be our cup of tea!

We had the no frills registry office wedding. We had three standard ceremony, no rings or music or readings etc. Ten minutes, job done.
