    Hi.

Have a Baxi boiler for central heating and hot water off the gas. Happy with it overall, though a few parts in the hot press have had to be replaced over the years.

The hot water has been acting a bit funny this past while.

Put it on for an hour, this results in:

Kitchen sink - good and warm
Bathroom sink - good and warm
Shower - barely passable, often lukewarm

This used not to be the case. The only way of getting the shower half way decent is to turn on the HW for a second stint.

    Any ideas?

your mixer valve in the shower may be faulty. ie the internal stat is mixing too much cold water with the hot water and therfore giving you a cold shower.

have you tried other taps in the bathroom are they warmer then the shower.

if so it would further point to a faulty mixer shower

Yep, the bathroom taps are cold and fully warm, respectively.

Could this be down to a build up of lime? If the HW is on for an hour, and the shower mixer is pushed to the max of the red, it can still be a lukewarm shower. Putting it on for a second hour ensures the shower is piping hot, generally.
