America with all its violence and guns.. Murder every day of the week. People get killed as they are so trigger happy. The cops kill people if there is a shot out. An African American gets killed and countrywide riots.. Should it be that any law breakers need to behave themselves..

There’s no need for America, but global sea levels would dramatically drop if it disappeared, as the Atlantic and Pacific rushed in to fill the void.

Canada would become the world’s biggest island, and the country with the straightest shoreline.

Mexican immigrants would fall to their deaths into the sea scaling the wall.

The main reason for the CA forum’s existence would disappear.

All positive stuff really, when you think about it, apart from the poor Mexicans. There’d have to be signs.

It is just a sh1tty dog eat dog society over there. They were all brought up on how great things were supposed to be but since the 80s or the corporate overlords have managed to slowly bagsies it all for themselves

A few gun deaths here and there is nothing compared to the peace of mind it gives that the English can't just rock up again and try to invade it.

Nope. They'd still have wands, but the spells would be bible excerpts and the wand would shoot out stars and stripes.

    AK47s are for commie muggles.

Many will be loathe to admit it but the world needs the USA.
Yes there is a need for gun control reform in that country. No one needs an assault rifle but good luck
    bringing that bill into law.

Possibly, but it's certainly not a 1st world country. It's a bit like Italy, nice in places, unspeakably terrible in others.

America is a Third World country socially. Religion is a big deal there and levels of economic, social and educational inequality are off the scale. They just happen to be a First World country economically, but that economic prosperity is extremely unequal, concentrated in the hands of a minority of privileged citizens - they being predominantly white, and protestant.

As a country they are fiercely religions and militaristic. A deadly combination.

I'm not sure what your definition of a "1st world country" is, but the origin of the term lies in the countries that were aligned with the US and NATO during the cold war, so in that sense the US can't be anything but a 1st world country no matter what.

Even if you're speaking economically, the US is by far the biggest in the world. And even if it was second, third or tenth, would it be in any way "second class" on the international scale?

Social problems - even the abject poverty of a proportion if its citizens - doesn't diminish these facts.

This... for America being such a great place, the gun laws are just mad.

“In 2017, the most recent year for which complete data is available, 39,773 people died from gun-related injuries in the U.S., according to the CDC. This figure includes gun murders and gun suicides, along with three other, less common types of gun-related deaths tracked by the CDC: those that were unintentional, involved law enforcement or whose circumstances could not be determined. It excludes deaths in which gunshot injuries played a contributing, but not principal, role. (CDC fatality statistics are based on information contained) “

    https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2019/08/16/what-the-data-says-about-gun-deaths-in-the-u-s/

Every year in the US, roughly the same number of people who live in the entirety Dundalk here are KILLED by gun crime.

    Injuries into several more thousand..

Is there a need for extra question marks when one will do?
    No.

Russia and China would hop from country to country enslaving and killing everyone without the US. It would be fairly horrible.

We shouldn't have adopted the worst aspects of contemporary US like PC feminism, gig economy etc. but its too late now.

Russia manages to be as tiny an economy as Italy and a threat to the entire world in one swell swoop.

When I said Russia and China, I didn't mean Russia or China.

Italy is one of the biggest economies in the world, don't know what you measured it against but its far from tiny.

They weren't doing that before America became a military power. They're not naturally colonialist, imperialist or expansionist.

There are (were) a few places I really would love to visit in America. Among the places I had a hankering to visit was Venice Beach in California. Until I saw this video this very day. WTF Venice Beach :( I am not coming to visit you... It looks dystopian.

Russia is a threat to the entire world, eh? What are you basing that crap on? Neocon propaganda?

What threat is Russia exactly? The same threat that Iraq was or Cuba or Venezuela or North Korea?

The only threat Russia poses is resistance to its economy and infrastructure being plundered by Wall st and western corporations.
