    Hi all,
I have a Mazda 3 1.6 diesel 2013. A lot of trouble with fuel injectors. Two replaced and the same recurring fault shows up. 48,000 of these were recalled in the UK with the same issue. The issue in the recalls was an electrical fault and the engines were reprogrammed. I have been in touch with Mazda Ireland and they are very vague in their replies. I wanted to know what software was used in those cars and is it different to the rest of the cars made in the same time period! I am not happy with their response nor am I happy with this fault. I find it hard to believe that cars made in the same year, had different software and therefore don't have the same problems. Has anyone else on here had trouble with fuel injectors? They cost thousands to be replaced and my most recent mechanic believes that there is actually nothing wrong with the injectors at all.

Have you had it at a main dealer and did you request they update the software?
Has your mechanic actually diagnoised the fault or is he throwing parts at it and now blaming someone else?
Those 1.6d engine are known for injector issues, they're actually a PSA engine and not a Mazda unit. Most mechanics with the right equipment can easily diagnoise and fix them properly. IIRC the wiring harness going to the injectors can cause issues which may be whats wrong here. Of course a good mechanic would have checked there first..........

PSA engine meant they're ford engine?

My father in law owns a 2010 mazda 3 saloon daysul. And it gave him nothing but trouble the first trouble was DPF warning on dash, dealer said it was normal cause it's a daysul and need to burn off the carbs build up.

then after few months they had to replace majority of the engines connections/pipes, oils have leaked out all over the engine and have to pressure wash it to get rid all of the oil and replace belt and pump, he spent over a thousands for the job.

After a few days the alternator went into smoke.

few months after, he had trouble again with the car and have to bring it to the main mazda garage as they the ones who will be able to fix the problem can't remember what it was but another cash burning, he spent €500.

Few months after that, trouble with the gearbox another €500 spent get it fix.

After all that trouble I will never ever own a mazda.

It's a Peugeot engine that Ford and Mazda used among others.

Not sure why you'd never own another Mazda when all the parts that failed are built by PSA. :)

But that's even worse isn't, sort of tricking people into buying to what they presumably thought what they are buying is a Mazda like, especially for people who know nothing about cars. May as well buy a Peugeot for less money. Just put me off even more.

I don't believe it is. Its a more a reliable Nissan. Anyway, a Fluence isn't a Renault, its a Korean Samsung so its more of a Hyundai that's been built in Turkey. Or does it use the Romanian Dacia 1.5dci?

    This is all very confusing

Have you or your mechanic had the injectors tested by a specialist? The injectors in your vehicle will be Continental VDO brand so one of their agents will be able to test and tell you whether they are faulty or not. A sight cheaper than just replacing injectors without knowing whether they are faulty or not!

Shouldn’t be costing thousands to replace either:
