    Hi,

I recently noticed that my fluence braking mechanism isn't as responsive as before I have to somewhat start engaging the brake farther away than usual and fully engage the brake pedal and lower the gear down to 3rd or 2nd to slow the car and come to a full stop.

*no strange noise produced from braking.
*brake pads installed last november and brake discs not new but was grind by indie mechanic last November.

EDIT: Sorry the title supposed to be brake not break, its the phones keyboard auto correct.

I would suggest getting the brake fluid changed completely or at least bled of air. You could have the best brake discs and pads in the world but if you have old dirty brake fluid and an air pocket that pedal might aswell be outside the car. I'd imagine pads are good they usually last about 50,000km depending on driving style and if the discs were re-machined properly then the hardware isn't the issue

You should visit the garage obviously as you can't brake properly without engine braking.

I suggest not driving, but towing it instead.

Sounds serious since you are using the engine for braking instead of brakes.

Very serious. Shouldn't be on the road.

I still have warranty on it until Junes, will this be covered under warranty or under usual service parts as brake pads and discs.

Same thought, discs, and pads aren't the issue - you will feel immediately if it's the pads or discs cause of the grinding noise. I'll have it looked at.

How does the pedal feel - is it soft as in nearly pushing through the floor to stop or is it harder than normal.

Have you got working servo - if you pump up the pedal with car turned off then start car with foot still on brake, does the pedal drop down?

I rarely use the brake pedal fully, but this past week however I have to fully press it which is unnecessary really. It's soft, best guess is either air or brake fluid issue, I'll bring it to a garage tomorrow to fully inspect it. Just feels out of the ordinary.
