Desktop and Laptop - Dock ?

Hi All,

Like many others at the moment i am working from home.

I have a desktop pc for gaming and leisure , and now i have my work laptop in the one location.

Both are connected to a single monitor that swaps over automatically based on input. However i am finding myself with two keyboards on the desk and two mice. as i dont want to go plugging in and out of the desktop pc all the time.

Is there a dock or a similar solution that can be used for this setup so one keyboard and mouse can work for either Desktop PC or laptop ?

Have you considered just using the desktop machine and remoting in to the laptop when you need to work?

KVM switch is probably what you need.

A USB switch is what you need. Cheaper than a KVM too.
It's how I switch between my work PC and personal one.

Have the exact same setup here on my desk with a work laptop in a dock and my own pc and no issues.

Very stringent IT in my place of work , dont think they would allow it but thanks for the suggestion. They would also be conservative in that unless you are a director or something they arent going to go to the bother of looking into it.

thanks for the USB switch suggestion guys. As someone who is familiar with PCs , laptops and Docks etc i was not aware these simple USB switches existed.
