Buying US domiciled ETFs to avoid deemed disposal

Brokers are not allowed to sell US domiciled ETFs in the EU unless they have KID documentation. This means we're left with UCITS ETFs which are subject to deemed disposal.

Has anyone tried buying US domiciled ETFs via an international broker? I understand their subject to CGT rather an exit tax.

Has anyone here been successful with this?

If you are based in Ireland I think you are snookered.
TDAmeritrade & IB do not allow it, and I presume it is the same for all other international brokers who accept Irish customers.
I have an (inherited) account with Firstrade, they allow it (for the moment anyway), but I don't think you can open an account with them.

Tradestation allow you to buy US ETFs, Tastytrade allow options trading for international customers but I haven't tried purchasing a US ETF yet

Sometimes you get around this by buying ITM puts.
