Been nominated for a transfer from a council house to a tuath house, am in council house 9 years, have had 2 interviews with tuath housing and lots of forms re income + id etc sent back to them, they said they'd get back to council and back into me then, more recently letter was to declare all was ok with interview, what happens next? I presume garda vetting n stuff is all done before interview commenced?? Seen as houses are to be given out roughly in 3 weeks.. will they just ask council for information about us or do they vet every single person, we've not been to the attention of garda with years and are very good tenants

    Very likely, yes.

The guards like to know who is proposed for estates, and give valuable advice to avoid incompatible situations.

So basically guards just really give there opinions on the people they put into the houses?

Garda vetting reveals facts, not opinions.

How long do they take? As iv had interviews, signed declaration forms, sent back income and id to them and now just waiting on the official offer of the house? I thought all of that would be done before interviews commenced as we are already in a council house and been transferred to a tuath house

Facts can include local soft information, like there being incidents between family A and family B, even if there were no convictions.

Depends- it seems to be in the 4 to 6 week region at the moment- but some districts are better resourced for administrative duties such as this, than are others.

Really that long, we heard houses were hoping to be handed out early may, so we're in for a bit of delay so , cork area

As long as they want. I've seen few-days turnaround when the guards were really interested in the estate.

But as noted, it's usually a few weeks.
