Public Sector - incremental credits transferrable?

    Hi,

Can anyone inform me if one takes a downward move in grade status in the public sector (in the same department but different authority), are accumulated incremental credits lost and is one forced to start at the very beginning of the scale at the lower grade again?

If incremental credits are transferrable, I'm unsure how it all works when, for example, the rate of pay at the higher end of the lower grade turns out to be less than even the mid point on the scale of the higher grade (the jump would just be one grade but just exploring options!).

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Have a look at the policy and relevant circulars here:

It will vary on your HR. Generally, your increments should still be carried and you shouldn’t go down in pay. Have a chat with local HR and they should be able to confirm.
