Recommend me a monitor

Hi all,

I'll be getting a new PC shortly and my monitor is probably as old as most boards members, so i need to get a new one.

Looking to get a 27 - 32 1440p one that will last a while, i've checked a few sites but none deliver to Ireland.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

use case and budget? there is a wide array of monitors in this bracket that are really good for different things. I'd be picking something thats 144hz and IPS. Personally I love the LG offerings of late and they tend to make the panels for the majority of monitors atm anyway.

Will be used for gaming, specifically for the attached picture.

I'd suggest an Ultrawide, 34" High refresh. Amazon would be my goto.

Nice PC - Bizarre that they configure it single channel unless it has limited DIMM slots.

You would have the power for it but good ultra wides ain't cheap. Looking at around €800-1000+ for a good one.

You can get a good regular 27"/144-165hz 1440p for around €400-500.

What's the budget and would ultrawide be something you're interested in?

Nice system. Man those pre-mades are pricey but considering scalper pricing on the 3080 I guess its ok. With those specs personally I'd go for ultrawide.

3440x1440 160hz - LG 34GN850-B

I have the 38GN950 and it really is an amazing monitor but the cost is just crazy tbh. There are plenty of really great monitors out there. Do a little research on what you want specifically and you will find plenty. You can even look at 4k monitors and run games just fine with that system.

I was considering that too, but i reckon stock will be all over the place.

@ Vicxas i was close to buying the G7 but decided against it as a lot of reviews say the curve angle is not very nice to game on distorted image complaints seem widespread.
With that spec i would go ultrawide.

I have the 32" G7. I got used to the curve in a matter of days and absolutely love it. Buttery smooth and great colours. One thing, make sure you have a deep desk or you're gonna have to Vesa mount it.

How deep do you reckon, i have a 53cm desk. wonder if thats too shallow

Mine comes out to about 32cm. My desk is 75cm deep.

The 48 inch CX5 would be a better bet for only a couple hundred more, better panel at 120hz and gsync as opposed to 60 on the one you linked.

Don't how anyone could use something of that size as a monitor unless you're sitting about 5+ feet away from it.

Deep desk + the scaling at 4k means it wouldn't be too bad for productivity stuff and day to day but yeah for gaming I'm not sure how feasible it'd be.

Sitting close to a massive screen sounds vomit inducing for games and I don't even suffer motion sickness.

Might not be so bad for that thing at 120hz though but GL getting 120fps at 4k with games anyway. I'd still be worried about burn in for productivity or if you play 1 game a lot.

I'd love to try it at the same time.
