Engine rattle idea's

Hey guys The missus car was making a loud enough rattling noise when left in idle & continued when you drove it ,Didn't sound healthy It sounded like it was coming form the case where the belt is at the side of the engine block but cant be sure , (thought it might be the belt casing or pullies) , No engine light came on or…

Hey guys

The missus car was making a loud enough rattling noise when left in idle & continued when you drove it ,Didn't sound healthy

It sounded like it was coming form the case where the belt is at the side of the engine block but cant be sure , (thought it might be the belt casing or pullies) , No engine light came on or anything ,

Anyway today went out 5 minutes ago I was going to take the casing off and see would it stop but when I turned the car over the noise is gone ???

She says the noise was there for about 5 days or so ,

Any idea what it could have been & should I still take it up the garage for a look ,

Its a Diesel Octavia 2015
