    They sound like a cop-out...

"Come-on down to Bargaintown... where the prices are...ugh"

    *Song fades *

    then louder

    "Come along down to Bargaintown!"

I mean you've asked me twice, yet trailed off when giving me a reason. Are the prices terrible or what? Any older geezers here ever hear a fuller version of this?

Don't know about the current one, but the version I remember from my youth was:

"Hurry on down to Bargain Town, where the prices are only famous"

Here's the full version, with extended lyrics. Could make a good National Anthem for a United Ireland.

The bloody scene is bloody sad
The bloody news is bloody bad
The bloody weed is bloody turf
The bloody speed is bloody surf
The bloody folks are bloody daft
    Don't make me bloody laugh
It bloody hurts to look around
Hurry on down to bargain town

Wow, I always thought it was ‘Carry on down to Bargain Town’. Hurry makes much more sense.
