Tips for a new Social Enterprise

We set up a social enterprise a few months ago. It's our first experience with non-profits/CLGs. There are a few things that we are still trying to figure out:

- VAT - do nonprofits have to register? Can they claim VAT back (or does it work like charities?)
- Bookkeeping: I was trying to set up with Wave, but apparently they don't work for Ireland (I had read they work in over 200 countries). Any suggestions of a decent and low cost software?
- Grants - there seem to be none of the incentives that there are for ltd companies. Are there alternatives out there that may not be so obvious?

Since some of our work is related to education services, which is exempt of VAT (iirc), this makes our case even more complicated. Looks like an accountant with experience in the sector is needed.
