Travelling Between USA & Canada

When we are finally permitted to travel internationally again, I hope to travel in North America.
Starting by flying in to New York and going from there possibly by train to Toronto and Montreal and flying to Vancouver.
From there going down to Seattle by road and finally down to San Fran and then flying home.
What Visa- Entry considerations would I have to bear in mind when traveling between The States and Canada and back again, I would be a genuine tourist wishing to do everything by the book!

It's no problem as long as you qualify for the ESTA and the Canadian equivalent.

If you go to Canada for a few days within a US trip then it is regarded as the same entry to the US, so you shouldn't have major problems going back into the US.
Who knows if things will change now.

Please don't ever call it "San Fran" again.

+1, and keep in mind that because of this the 90-day ESTA counter is not reset when you travel to Canada and return. So your total trip in North America, Canada included, would need to be under 90 days.

Travel to Canada has had dynamic, changing requirements driven by COVID:
To protect Canadians from the outbreak of COVID-19, the Prime Minister announced travel restrictions that limit travel to Canada. Until further notice, most foreign nationals cannot travel to Canada, even if they have a valid visitor visa or electronic travel authorization (eTA). These restrictions stop most non-essential (discretionary) travel to Canada.
Also see "Driving to Canada requirements checklist." Also Alternative: Flying to Canada checklist.

    Nope. It's a local vs out-of-town thing. Amusing. ;)
