    Hi,

I have a car that has been parked up in our yard for the past 9 or 10 years. We need the space now so am going to scrap it - It was never declared off the road at the time - if I get a certificate of destruction does anyone know if there will be any issue with road tax arrears? I can't find any clear indication online.

    Thanks.

You only worry about tax arrears when you tax it.

What is it? Anything approaching 30 years old and salvageable might be worth more to sell than scrap.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

If you scrap it no-one is coming to look for tax for it.

24 yr old Mk2 1.0 litre suzuki swift 3 pot - was my first car and has been around the clock almost twice...
Finally let it go today - started first time on jump leads after sitting up for years and drove it to meet its maker...

That will sell, stick it up for €250.
