Hi. Looking to buy a hybrid eligible for €5k SEAI grant. It’s a new model not currently available. Car won’t be delivered until July but order is being placed by the garage next week. Will it qualify for the €5k grant or given the fact that it will not be registered until July mean it won’t qualify? Thanks in advance.

    What did the dealer say?

You agree a price with them and they claim the grant, not you, so if they have agreed a price which deducts the grant then thats what you will pay.

What make/model car is it? Is it a plugin-hybrid?

No confirmation only speculation that the grant is going to be withdrawn, due to run until end 2021.

Yes ,I presume i will lose the 5K as my new car is due for delivery in July and is over the 60K threshold.

Dealer was a little unsure to be honest, either that or wanted to let me down gently 😂. It’s a Mercedes CLA 250E, plug-in hybrid.
