Just looking for any recommendations for radio stations to fill the gap since RTE Gold went off DAB. I can get it via the TV but my problem in in the car. I'm not a mobile internet user, so internet stations are out. As DAB is gone, are there any decent FM stations country wide or in the North East that play a good mix of older music with a minimum of inane chatter from DJs. 2FM or Today FM are too young' for me, Lyric is not to my taste and Radio 1 is too much current affairs.

Any suggestions to keep me sane while driving?

Classic Hits or 4FM as it used to called isn't bad for oldies, but it's not nationwide, it's available in a lot of areas, but I don't know about the North East ?

Being in the north east , I wonder could you pick any Uk stations? I can’t exactly recommend any however...

I have been able to pick up on FM BBC Radio 1, 2, 3, 4 and Ulster any time I was driving around the north-east.

OP - Radio 2 might just fit the bill musically.
