Vodafone WiFi Calling Question

    Hi All,

Quick question with VF Wifi calling I am correct in thinking that once I am on the Wifi in the house that the phone will always use WiFi calling for incoming and outgoing calls.

I recently moved house and was thinking that WiFi calling could solve the problem for me of terrible coverage and missed calls. And it's not a case of moving to another network as all the operators have terrible coverage in the house.

    Many thanks,
    TCP/IP

WiFi Calling should generally take precedence over mobile calling. However WiFi calling demands high quality WiFi performance in order to work. The phone will check your WiFi performance before making a call. If quality is not good enough it will revert to mobile network, if available. WiFi may still be good enough for web browsing etc but not good enough for WiFi calling.

If you are dependent on WiFi calling for coverage throughout your home, you should consider installing additional WiFi Access points or a mesh system, to ensure seamless coverage throughout your home.

Note that Vodafone WiFi calling does not route text messages over WiFi - only voice calls, so you may miss text messages, including 2 factor authentication messages from banks etc, when using WiFi calling. Eir is the only network in Ireland that offers fully featured WiFi calling, including text messages and use while roaming.

Many thanks for such a great response really appreciate it. WiFi throughout the house has an Aruba Enterprise access points that cover the whole house and even the gardens so coverage will not be a problem.

Can anyone confirm whether Wifi Calling on VF allows you to send SMS messages yet ?

    Eir wifi calling.

Ref above comments, please be aware that Eirs wifi calling for SMS is erratic , to say the least - so much so that its virtually unuseable.

Its driving me mad when trying to do online banking - regularly have to do transactions several time, and eventually have to restart phone.
