Two connections to ONT

I had FFTH installed last year and decided to use my own mesh wifi system as the provider's equipment was rubbish. Last night I was bored and decided to try another router on the ONT as well with one of the free ports.

Surprisingly it worked, separate wifi network and different external IP to the mesh system.

Surely this can't be correct? Would the provider notice that I have done this?

So I assume you're with Eir then?

VM users have been doing it yonks, my Samknows is on its own net and does its own thing entirely independent of the "main" network.

Their RAS should kill one call when the other comes in with the matching credential. Its no biggie in either case, just costs them an extra IP.
