Very direct question from that young lad.

Looking at those clips he definitely had a bit of charisma.

Funnily enough it was the English journalists who stood up for Dunphy in the press conference.

There's a bittersweet irony in this programme in that those of us who lived through those times will never forget Jack Charlton.

Such a sad ending but this doc is beautifully made.

He lived such a brilliant life. Can you imagine winning the World Cup playing beside your brother. The adventures with Ireland were just something else.

I often gets said but the Irish football team and what they did in 88, 90 genuinely changed the country. All led by Jack.

Love that clip of him training the young lads at a rural football club.

It made for bittersweet viewing, brought back so many wonderful memories, but, also very poignant too seeing him as a pale shadow of his former self. He was a remarkable charismatic man, who lived a truly remarkable life. He was very blunt and direct, but charming too, probably part of why we loved him so much here. We'll never see his likes again or experience anything close to the joy he brought this country.

Bittersweet is a great word for it.

Some great archive footage including stuff I’d never seen before like the Italia 90 “after party”

Didn’t really like the “mixed up” jumping around the time periods approach - can see what they were aiming at but I felt a simple chronological approach would’ve been better

Felt it over emphasised his rift with Bobby charlton (bit Wierd to be honest)

It was as someone else said , the Irish football story for a British audience

Thought the use of a terrible aul dirge by lankum to soundtrack the Italia 90 highlights was bizarre and didn’t work at all

Should’ve used an upbeat number maybe pride in the name of love by u2

    Lankum song totally unsuitable.

The footage of Jack at the end of his life was very respectfully done and it was hard not to be effected watching it.

Overall though it was worth watching.
