Insulate first floor joists

    Hi all,

Dormer bungalow, first floor bed room. I'll be laying laminate flooring on an acoustic underlay. Just ripped up the carpet and there is plywood. Under the plywood no insulation between joists.

Bedroom is above a living room with open fire.

Could anyone advise if I should insulate between the joists? Should I leave a void between joists and seal the edges? Or is all of this a no go?!

    Thanks for the help.

    Jumpa
