Courtesy van when placing a new order?

In the market for a new van, have a few specific extras that I want to add to the van so will need to be a new order. Also want to wait for a 212 plate. Will also be paying for the van in full, no pcp etc.

I was planning on chancing my arm and asking the garage for a courtesy van while I wait for delivery on my new van, is this realistic, anyone been successful with striking a similar deal with a garage?

They make less money on you when you pay in full. You can always ask but I would be surprised if they gave you a courtesy van.

They might have some yoke that's not sale ready yet but 3 months van use is a huge ask IMO.

The only time they will give a courtesy van or car is if you are trading in and they want your vehicle straight away. In your case you intend looking for the van without a trade in and are expecting to get a courtesy vehicle for 6-8 weeks so that you can wait for a 212.

Are you looking for a free van for 3 months while you wait for a 212 reg? That's about €3k rental and will be more than the profit they make from the sale. Dealers want people to take their finance, cash costs a dealer money as they get commission on finance

Not a chance of a courtesy van, you may be able to arrange a short term lease of a van.

The only way to answer your question is ask the dealer but looking for a courtesy van for that lenght of time is a bit unrealistic

The only way I could see them giving you a van as a loner is if they have something in the back of the yard that was traded in which still has valid tax or cvrt. No guarantee that they would still give it to you though as anything like that could be used as a courtesy when customers have their vans in for servicing, etc. I couldn't see them giving it to you for 6 to 8 weeks being honest but if it were a week or two it might be doable. No harm in asking though as all they can say is yes or no. They might well offer a hire van at a good rate.

You'd hesitate to give a lend of a van for a few days to a good customer as they come back hockied 100% of the time.

Getting a yoke for 3 months for placing an order for one van isn't going to happen.

Why do you want to wait for a 212 plate?
How long are you planning on keeping the van?

Do you think the extra few months will make a difference in selling price?
Because if you're planning on keeping the van for years the few months on the plate will add nothing...

A good, clean, fresh van will be an easy sell........ most of them are w@nked. 121 or 122 will make no difference IMO as poster above me mentioned.

If its a case that you need a van now but old one is broke.

    The options are imo.

    1) buy what you can have immediately in a new or fairly new van and make the best of it.

    2) pick up a cheap enough but usable van that can be got rid off in July or whenever new one comes.

Its a frustrating one if youve your heart set on something but at the end of the day its a van. You can still work out a way to get the exact van you want
