A few years ago I got a Mercedes A class for my grand aunt.
I think she initially liked it, having a Mercedes badge, but then grew to dislike it over the years.

Recently, I was thinking about a nicely kitted out 1 or 2 series BMW instead.

By nicely kitted out I mean nice light leather seats, a good drivers cockpit where you feel proud to be in when you are in it, small and easy to drive, has some mobility features and is altogether a better drive.

She is 80 years old and lives in the south of England, so there's loads of options.

    Thoughts? Alternatives?

The 2 series BMW is a big classy MPV with a very classy well designed dash.

    Maybe a B Class Mercedes.
A Lexus NX maybe. Might be out of budget do.

    Peace and long life.

I think the OP is talking about the 2 Series coupe, not the MPV thing.
