Recently got dried skim milk from a friend whose work place were destroying as was not fit for human consumption . Could i feed this to calves mixed with milk replacer to get the protein correct 25 _ 28 percent?? Could you feed it dry to older cattle.. Thanks in advance to any replies received. Any ideas 😊

Do you know why it is not fit for human consumption? Is it fit for cattle?

I can't imagine any responsible company allowing "not fit for human consumption" products into the food chain. I'd advise you to make sure that your friend came by this stuff legally.

    Absolutely not...no way..

You can add it to supplement feed when they are weaned, but the mineral/ vitamin profile will not suit unweaned calves, and you will not achieve a proper amnio acid profile from substituted protein, other than from a dairy milk source..

Thanks alps. I did research and the dried skim i received was from this years milk.. After evaporation. Would this not do good for unweaned calves if mixed wit a milk replacer?? How would you recommend feeding to this to weaned cattle.. Thanks for the help
